2

semi-sweet chocolate chips
1
cup
chopped nuts (optional - walnuts or pecans)
2
tbsp
cornstarch (for extra chewiness)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cornstarch. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
Add the vanilla extract and eggs to the butter mixture, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts if using, until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving enough space between each for spreading.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve the cookies warm with a glass of cold milk. Arrange them on a decorative plate and add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a gourmet touch.
