In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions and shape them into small patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until browned. During the last minute, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
While the patties are cooking, cut the slider buns in half. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and chopped pickles.
Spread the sauce mixture on the bottom half of each slider bun. Place a cheeseburger patty on each bun, followed by a piece of lettuce. Top with the other half of the bun.
Place the assembled sliders on a baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until the buns are lightly toasted.
Remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
Arrange the sliders on a platter, and serve with a side of crispy fries or sweet potato wedges for a delightful meal. Add extra pickles on the side for those who want an extra crunch!
