1tablespoonnut butter (optional, for secret center)
Instructions
In a microwave-safe mug, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix well until there are no lumps.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until you have a smooth batter.
Fold in the chocolate chips. If you’re using nut butter for that secret center, drop a tablespoon of it in the middle of the cake batter, pressing it down gently.
Microwave the mug cake on high for about 40-60 seconds. Start checking at 40 seconds, as microwaves vary in power. The cake should rise and look set but still slightly moist.
Allow the mug cake to cool for a minute before digging in. The center should be warm and gooey with the nut butter, if added.
Notes
Serve directly in the mug, topped with whipped cream or ice cream for an indulgent treat!
